Domestic and foreign private equity investment value in the Netherlands 2007-2018

This statistic shows the total value of investments done by domestic and foreign private equity firms in the Netherlands from 2007 to 2018 (in million euros). Private equity (PE) concerns capital from an investment company. Investors, usually institutional investors, pension funds, endowments or wealthy individuals, directly invest in other companies that are not listed on a public exchange. It can take different shapes, such as a management buyout, management buying (MBI), a divisional buyout or venture capital for starting companies through an angel investor. In 2018, private equity investments in the Netherlands were worth approximately 3.6 billion euros. The majority of these investments came from Dutch private equity firms.
