Though the RTL Group itself was founded less than 20 years ago, the beginnings of the RTL Group date back to the first airing of Radio Luxembourg in 1924. Today, RTL Group operates TV and radio channels across Europe and is a global leader in television content production.
As of 2018, RTL Group reported a total EBITDA of over 1.3 billion euros. Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland accounted for over half of the group's EBITDA in 2018. EBITDA of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland was roughly 730 million euros, whereas EBITDA of RTL Belgium was lowest, at just 41 million euros in the same year.
