Some 42 percent of the total sales were generated from the robot segment. The company is a major producer of automation equipment of all kinds, most in advanced robotics.
Fanuc not just big, the biggest
Only the American Symbotic comes close to reaching the market capitalization of Fanuc and still the Japanese giant has a market cap nearly 40% larger than its American counterpart. It then dwarfs its other competitors, such as KION or ATS Automation.
Steady and large R&D budget
In the fiscal year of 2023, FANUC incurred research and development (R&D) expenses of approximately 52 billion Japanese yen. This is comparable to the budget since 2018, with giving them a considerable heft in development, allowing the company to stay competitive and in step with market developments.
