In 2024, Amsterdam was the city in the Netherlands with the highest number of domestic hotel guests. That year, hotels in the popular Dutch destination recorded approximately 1.9 million domestic travelers. Rotterdam and The Hague followed in the ranking in 2024, with 789,000 and 738,000 domestic hotel guests, respectively.

According to the source, the hotel category includes: hotels, motels, apartments with hotel services, youth accommodation, and bed & breakfasts with at least five berths.
Guest includes: visitors who stay for one or more nights at overnight accommodation establishments; visitors who stay for multiple times per month in the same or different accommodation establishments.
Guest does not refer to: visitors who stay for more than two months at a time at overnight accommodation establishments. Asylum seekers and seasonal employees are not taken into account.
