The digital sector accounted for the highest number of FDI projects in Europe in that year, with a total of 1,219 projects. Digital, business services and machinery and equipment made up the top three sectors for foreign direct investment in Europe with 1219, 774 and 535 projects respectively. The leading ten sectors for FDI projects accounts for approximately 68 percent of all projects undertaken in 2019.
