England and Wales largest prisons 2024

In 2024, HMP Oakwood, located in the West Midlands, had the highest prisoner population of all prisons in England and Wales with around 2,100 prisoners located there. The recently opened HMP Berwyn in Wales had the second-highest number of prisoners at 1,995.
