From January to March 2020, inbound tourists spent around 0.21 trillion Japanese yen during their stay in Tokyo, Japan, a decrease by more than 1 trillion yen, compared to the previous year. After the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, inbound travel by foreigners stopped nearly entirely.
