The number of overnight stays taken by Italian domestic travelers rose in 2022 compared to the previous year, following a sharp drop with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite the annual increase, the number of domestic overnight stays did not catch up with pre-pandemic levels, reaching around 255 million in 2022.
