Growth of brands compatible with Amazon Alexa 2020

In a little over three years, Amazon’s Alexa has gone from being compatible with 1200 brands to around 9,500 brands as of July 2020. Introduced in November 2014, Alexa is a virtual assistant artificial intelligence technology developed by Amazon and used through Amazon’s services such as Amazon Echo.

As such, it is no surprise as to why the largest share of American companies reported to be developing voice-enable technology for Amazon Alexa. With an ever-expanding catalogue of skills, Amazon’s Alexa is mostly used by consumers to answer questions or check the weather/news.
