* Asylum seeker entries in the EASY system. The EASY system is a software that coordinates the distribution of asylum seekers across German Federal states. According to the source, incorrect or double registrations of the asylum seekers entered in the software cannot be ruled out. Since January 2017, arriving asylum seekers are recorded as a separate statistic. A direct comparison with the EASY numbers from previous months (up until 2016) is not possible.
** Figures refer to the months January to April.
Figures for the months from 2014 to 2016 were retrieved from the website of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Figures for months from 2017 and 2018 were available through the source link noted and earlier press releases of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI). The figures for 2017 and 2018 were taken from the the reference of origin as well as prior press statements by the BMI.
