This statistic shows the U.S. opinions on whether Trump's punishment of the media is appropriate as of August 2018, broken down by political affiliation. The findings show that 62 percent of responding Republicans said that they thought it was appropriate for Trump to exclude media representatives from presidential events and press conferences when he is unhappy with news media coverage, compared to 11 percent of Democrats who said the same.
