In 2021, the majority of the fleet nationally registered was composed of container ships and dry cargo ships, which make up 48 percent and 15 percent of the total fleet tonnage, respectively. Meanwhile, nationally registered bulk carrier ships, mainly used for raw material transportation, accounted for 7 percent of the total deadweight capacity.

LPG and LNG tankers, asphalt tankers, Ro-Ro ships, Ro-Ro ferry/passenger, fishing boats, scientific research vessels, harbor ferries, harbor car ferries, tugs, train ferries/roll-on, roll-off (RO-RO) did not register any deadweight capacity that year.

Figures only include ships of a capacity size than 1000 gross tons and over.
