Bank deposits per capita in Latin America 2023, by country
In 2023, Panama led Latin America with bank deposits of 21,954 U.S. dollars per person, nearly double that of its closest regional peers. Uruguay ranked second with 11,627 U.S. dollars in deposits per capita, followed closely by Chile at 11,033 U.S. dollars. These three nations were the only ones in Latin America to exceed 10,000 U.S. dollars in per-capita bank deposits. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Argentina recorded just 1,619 U.S. dollars in bank deposits per person.
