Canadian alcohol preferences 2018
According to a survey carried out in July 2018 which asked Canadian adults which types of alcohol they prefer to drink, wine was stated by 50 percent of respondents as one of their top three choices. Domestic and imported beer ranked in second and third places, with a 31 and 24 percent share of the vote respectively.

Over one quarter of respondents claimed that red was their favorite type of wine to drink in a recent survey. Just over 21 percent of Canadians preferred white, whilst 10 percent liked red and white wine equally. When buying wine, price is the leading purchase criterion, followed by recommendations from friends and family and the country of origin. Of those consumers who have a preferred wine origin , Canadian wine is the most popular and European ranked in second place.
