The survey outcomes indicate that among the supermarkets considered, Lidl had the highest market share of sustainably labeled chocolate bars in Belgium in 2016. Over 75 percent of chocolate bars available in Lidl Supermarkets were certified, while the share of chocolate bars in Aldi with a sustainable label was just over 45 percent.

56 retail outlets from 11 supermarket chains. Supermarket chain managers were asked to identify their biggest and most representative retail outlets, geographically located anywhere in Belgium.
