According to the source, an analysis of English and Arabic-language conversations across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs and forums was undertaken between 2012 and 2016. MENA countries from which data were analyzed included the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.
