In 2024, there were more new housing starts in the South of the United States than in every other region of the country combined. Housing starts have been decreasing in the South and the West of the U.S. since 2021, while housing starts remainec the same in the Midwest in 2024 and they increased in the Northeast after a decline in previous years.
