In 2022, over 156,000 post-abortion procedures were performed in Brazil, of which 139,483 were curettages. The number of manual vacuum aspirations, a procedure commonly carried out due to unsuccessful or incomplete abortions, has been consistently increasing from less than 6,000 in 2013 to over 17,000 in 2022.
