Leading information sources for ICO investments in the Netherlands 2018

In early 2018, Dutch investors considered the white paper to be their most important source of information for investing in an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). An ICO is a way for a company to raise venture capital. The company, usually a start-up, created a cryptocurrency and it sells these to investors. Additionally, the source mentions that 61 percent of respondents used multiple sources before participating in an ICO. Dutch interest in investing in cryptocurrencies decreased since 2018, however, with no new surveys or information appearing about this topic in the Netherlands in 2019.

Because Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies reached the news often in 2017, approximately 60 percent of the households in the Netherlands who invested in cryptocurrencies started doing so in 2017.
