This statistic shows the number of prescription medicines excluded from one or more formularies, by select leading U.S. pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) from 2012 to 2024. In 2024, there were 762 such exclusions at Express Scripts and 644 at CVS Caremark. Only OptumRx managed to decrease its number of exclusions to just below 600.
