Alongside this rise in hospitals in the country, the number of physicians employed has also increased since 2000. Going from over 85,200 in this year, to approximately 194,700 in 2022. As a ratio, this results in an average of 461 citizens to each physician in Turkey.

In 2022, about six in ten individuals had received health care from a specialist in the past 12 months, women were more likely than men to do so. Furthermore, a 2023 study found that 37 percent of those surveyed trusted in the quality of health care treatment in Turkey, compared to 23 percent who did not.
