Smartphone market in Taiwan
Offline smartphone sales within the Taiwanese market witnessed a peak in October 2019. Since then, monthly sales volume spikes in October or November of each month. While Apple held the largest share of the mobile market, Huawei lost its market share among the major vendors in the Taiwanese market as of the middle of 2020.
Smartphone usage
The increase in smartphone sales in Taiwan was paralleled by the number of smartphone users which saw a 15 percent increase in the five-year span between 2015 and 2020. This comes as no surprise with over 91 percent of respondents aged over twelve owning a smartphone of August 2019, as shown by a yearly survey conducted by the National Development Council of Taiwan.
