The United Kingdom was the leading travel market for the Ionian Islands between 2019 and 2023. In the latter year, the number of tourist arrivals from the UK totaled nearly 1.1 million, almost catching up with the figure from 2019, the year before the impact of COVID-19. In 2023, Germany and Italy followed in the ranking, with around 548 thousand and 445 thousand arrivals, respectively. The Ionian Islands include the islands of Zante, Corfu, Kefalonia, and Lefkada.
