This statistic shows the average daily use of drinking water per capita in the Netherlands in 2016, by household size (in liters). It shows that a person in a larger household on average used the fewest liters of drinking water per day this year. People living in a household containing five or more people on average used 100.7 liters of water on a daily basis. In contrast, people living in a two-person household used nearly 128 liters per person per day.

The survey consisted of three parts: an evaluation of the water using equipment at the participants' homes, a dairy research in which respondents filled in on a daily basis which equipment they used and for how long, and a questionnaire about drinking water usage. The results have been weighted to represent the entire population.
