Around 65 percent of payment cards in Ukraine were debit cards, reaching a total of nearly 33.8 million issued as of January 2024. Credit cards were found less often in the country, as there were approximately 17.8 million of these, which was a significant increase when compared to previous years. Owning a payment card does not immediately indicate it gets used often, as there are large differences within Europe when it comes to the use of certain payment methods.
