In 2023, the Indian e-commerce sector saw 85 private equity and venture capital investment (PE/VC) deals. This was a decrease from 162 deals in the previous year. The highest number of investments was recorded in 2021.
The online e-commerce market makes up for around 25 percent of the total retail market in India and is expected to reach a share of nearly 40 percent by 2030.
