Consumption of antimicrobials for systemic use in Italy 2011-2022
Between 2011 and 2021, the level of consumption of antimicrobials for systemic use in Italy decreased. According to the data, in fact, the consumption of antimicrobials was equal to 30.2 DDD (daily defined dose) per 1,000 inhabitants per day in 2011, while by 2021 this figure reached 18.2 DDD per 1,000 inhabitants. However, in 2022 this figure increased reaching 21.1 DDD per 1,0000 inhabitants. This statistic displays the consumption of antimicrobials for systemic use in Italy between 2011 and 2022.
