The coronavirus pandemic caused significant disruptions in the hospitality industry across the globe. In the Nordic region, this can be seen in the decline in the average daily rate (ADR) of hotels in capital cities from April onwards due to restrictions in non-essential travels worldwide. Hotels in Reykjavik experienced the most dramatic price drop from March to April when hotels cost 69 euros per night. Prices continued to drop on the fourth quarter of 2020, with hotels in Oslo reaching as low as 50 euros per night in December.
