Assets in pension funds in the Benelux region as share of GDP 2014-2018
This statistic shows the total value of assets of pension funds in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands from 2014 to 2018 (as share of GDP). According to OECD, pension fund assets in the Netherlands were amongst the highest in the world. In 2018, the size of pension funds compared to GDP reached 171 percent in the Netherlands. By contrast, pension funds assets were below eight percent of GDP in Belgium.
