Overall, the number of NHS facilities providing support to people willing to quit smoking increased going from 195 to 301, between 2001 and 2018. In 2019, however, this figure started to drop reaching 189 anti-smoking facilities in 2022. In 2023, the number of anti-smoking facilities across Italy were 203.
