In 2022, the import value of integrated circuits in China was 416 billion U.S. dollars, a 15 percent decrease compared to the previous year. As of August 2023, the import value was already 15 percent lower in a year-on-year comparison. China heavily relied on imported integrated circuits, however the increasing localization of the supply chain and the sanctions from the United States impacted the trad volume of computer chips.
