An October 2022 survey in the United States revealed a general lack of awareness among the population about the United States, Mexico, and Canada being selected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. During the survey, 65 percent of respondents that that they had not seen, read, or heard anything all about the upcoming World Cup. Awareness among soccer fans was slightly higher, with 16 percent stating that they had heard a lot about the 2026 tournament.
