Most valuable players of the Brazilian national soccer team 2024
With a market value of 150 million euros, Real Madrid’s leftwinger Vinicius Junior was the most valuable player in Brazil's national soccer team as of August 2023. Trailing Vinicius in second place was fellow Los Blancos winger Rodrygo with a worth of 100 million euros.
A Brazilian national treasure
In Brazil, soccer is a crucial part of the country's national culture, analogous to samba dancing or Carnival. The Brazilian Soccer Confederation (CBF, as abbreviated in Portuguese) is arguably the country's largest sporting institution, with the CBF being the most-followed sports confederation on social media in Brazil by a significant margin, having attracted over 30 million followers as of July 2022. In comparison, the volleyball confederation, which came in second place, had less than two million followers. As the country with the most FIFA World Cup titles in men’s soccer, passion for the sport in Brazil has found expression as on-field success for the Seleção.
Brazilian soccer players as prized exports
Brazil is globally renowned for producing exceptionally talented soccer players, however, the best soccer players from Brazil often find themselves playing abroad. Foreign leagues, especially the "Big Five" in Europe, can offer more lucrative contracts for players, as well as the chance to perform on soccer's biggest stages. The global prevalence of Brazilian soccer players is evident in the leading nationality among men's soccer transfers globally being Brazilian, with over two thousand Brazilian players completing international transfers in 2022.
