Plastics converter demand shares in Europe 2016-2023, by polymer

Polypropylene (PP) accounted for the largest share of plastics converter demand in the European Union in 2023, at 15.7 percent. PP is used for various products, such as food packaging, sweet and snack wrappers, hinged caps, microwave proof containers, and automotive parts. In 2022, the packaging segment accounted for approximately 40 percent plastics converter demand in Europe.
