Deaths in Chile from air pollution 2000-2021
In 2021, more than seven thousand deaths in Chile were attributable to air pollution from PM2.5 (outdoor and indoors) and ozone. In comparison to the previous year, this represented an increase of 1.4 percent. In 2019, it was estimated that some six percent of the Chilean population was exposed to household air pollution from solid fuels.
