Sweden’s performance in the past UEFA European Championship
After being postponed by one year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the 16th edition of the UEFA European Championships (EURO) — the top national soccer teams’ championship in Europe — took place in the summer of 2021. In the group rounds, the Swedish squad finished in the top position of its group with seven points in total. However, its participation in the tournament ended in the round of 16, losing one to two against Ukraine. In that edition of the UEFA EURO, Sweden only managed to score five goals, thus placing in the lower positions of the ranking by number of goals scored.
