In 2020, 60 percent of the world's billionaires' fortunes were self-made. Moreover, only 11 percent were inherited. However, there are clear differences between male and female billionaires. Whereas nearly two thirds of the former were self-made, less than one fourth of the latter was the same. 45 percent of the female billionaires in the world inherited their fortunes.
