This statistic shows what Spaniards think are effective policy responses to reducing the use of non-recyclable product waste, such as some plastics. According to data published by Ipsos in 2018, 46 percent of respondents believe that government investment to improve recycling would be an effective policy. Only 13 percent of respondents think that fines for households that do not recycle enough would be an effective policy.
Which if any of the following do you think would be effective at reducing the problems caused by unnecessary use of plastic and packaging that cannot be recycled?
* Respondents from 28 countries around the world. Approximately 1,000 individuals aged between 18 and 65 years were surveyed in Spain. Where results do not sum to 100 or the ‘difference’ appears to be+-1 more/less than the actual, this may be due to rounding, multiple responses or the exclusion of don't knows or not stated responses.
