Share of cigarette smokers in Italy 2019, by age and gender
The most common smoker in Italy in 2019 was a man and he was between 25 and 44 years of age. According to the data, in fact, this was the category with the highest prevalence of cigarette smokers across genders and age groups (36.3 percent). For females, the age group in which smoking was most common was the 45-64 one, with a prevalence rate of almost 23 percent.
