This statistic shows what Germans think are effective policy responses to reducing the use of non-recyclable product waste, such as some plastics. According to data published by IPSOS in 2019, 38 percent of respondents believe that higher taxes on supermarkets and shops that use a lot of non-recyclable packaging would be an effective policy. Only 11 percent of respondents think that a public-information campaign would be an effective policy.
Which if any of the following do you think would be effective at reducing the problems caused by unnecessary use of plastic and packaging that cannot be recycled?
* Respondents from 28 countries around the world. Exact numbers surveyed in Germany not provided. Where results do not sum to 100 or the ‘difference’ appears to be+-1 more/less than the actual, this may be due to rounding, multiple responses or the exclusion of don't knows or not stated responses.
