Owning an electric car was cheaper than driving cars with other fuel types in the Netherlands in 2022. Diesel cars were the most expensive option, costing approximately 1,547 euros a month, compared to the cost of electric cars at 1,320 euros a month. Furthermore, the popularity of diesel vehicles in the Netherlands decreased between 2015 and 2019.
