Price was the main consideration of global travelers when booking a flight, with a 2019 survey finding that 69 percent of short-haul travelers and 61 percent of long-haul travelers rank this in their top three. Entertainment options was the lowest consideration for both types of travel, with 10 percent and 15 percent respectively.
Major considerations when booking a flight for airline travelers worldwide in 2019, by type of flight
The markets surveyed were Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Africa, UK and USA. Each market had 1,000 respondents except the U.S., India and China, which had 2,000 respondents. The data was weighted to be nationally representative of age and gender.
Values are the share of respondents who ranked the consideration within their top three.
