Annual fatalities from avian influenza (H7N9) virus in China 2015-2021
Avian influenza A (H7N9) virus, also referred to as HpAI H7N9 or commonly known as bird flue, is a subtype of influenza viruses that have been detected only in birds in the past. However, since March 2013, infections in both birds and humans have been observed. A total of 259 people died as a result of the infection in the country in 2017 and one in 2019.
