US webshop penetration rate in the Netherlands 2015-2019
This statistic shows the answers to a survey question on the penetration of webshops from the United States in the Netherlands from 2015 to 2019. According to the survey, the share of respondents in the Netherlands who indicated they used this "now and then" stayed the same between 2015 and 2018, indicating that cross-border shopping from the United States of America did not increase in the Netherlands.

Online shoppers from Ireland, Austria and Belgium, for example, seem more likely to buy products from a foreign e-commerce retailer. Chances were less in the Netherlands, however, as the country had a strongly developed domestic e-commerce market with companies like Bol.com or Coolblue.
