QatarEnergy has the largest LNG export capacity of any natural gas company in the world. As of September 2024, the state-owned company had a operational storage capacity of 55.8 million metric tons per annum. By comparison, the second largest leading LNG exporting company, Cheniere Energy, had an operational exporting capacity of 44.5 million metric tons per annum. Qatar and the United States are among the leading LNG exporting countries in the world
