Build-to-rent, or BTR is residential housing, flats or houses, that are built specifically to be rented. They are usually professionally managed and offer longer leasing periods. Between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2022, the BTR stock in planning increased by 14 percent. Nevertheless, the under construction stock increased by 22 percent.
