This statistic displays the number of knife possession offences by adults, resulting in a suspended sentence in England and Wales from the first quarter of 2015 to the third quarter of 2017. Whilst the number of community sentences fluctuated during the period observed, the trend was generally one of increase. In the first quarter of 2015, the number of suspended sentences amounted to 752, by the third quarter of 2017, the number of suspended sentences had increased to a high of 1,061.
