E-commerce penetration in Belgium 2015-2019

This statistic shows the market share of B2C e-commerce spending in total shopping expenditure in Belgium from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, online spending in Belgium reached a market share of 20 percent within the total market of shopping. This is a slight increase compared to the previous year.
Within the Benelux region, Belgium's e-commerce sector is not yet as developed as the sector in the Netherlands. BeCommerce, Belgium's e-commerce association, mentions for example that e-commerce is "ten times larger" in the Netherlands than it is in Belgium. It is growing rapidly, however. In 2016, Amazon was the largest online retailer in Belgium with a revenue of approximately 288 million euros.
