How gender equal is Sweden concerning politics? Despite still being dominated by men, the gap is closing; around 47 percent of politicians in Sweden in 2018 were female. The gender gap was slighlty larger concerning chief officials in associations, and general, county council and municipalities directors; in these sectors 46 percent of the people in charge were female in 2018. Despite this, the gender gap within the Swedish job market was substantial concerning managing directors of companies. Within this sector, only 17 percent were women in 2018.
