Revenue of AkzoNobel by region 2023

AkzoNobel is a Dutch listed multinational company, specializing in both paint and performance coatings. In terms of the regional revenue generation of AkzoNobel in 2023, China was the country that generated the highest revenue with around 1.4 billion euros. AkzoNobel's revenue in its home country, the Netherlands, amounted to a much smaller 319 million euros that year. Concerning the revenue of AkzoNobel by business area, the performance coatings unit amounted to approximately 6.4 billion euros and was therefore the best-performing business unit of the company in 2023. 

AkzoNobel's dynamic operating income

The operating income of AkzoNobel fluctuated notably between 2008 and 2023. In 2015, the company generated its highest ever operating income of roughly 1.57 billion euros. In 2023, the operating income amounted to about 1.03 billion euros. The net income attributable to shareholders saw a significant increase to nearly 6.7 billion euros in 2018. This was mainly due to the discontinued operations worth more than 6.2 billion euros.

AkzoNobel's gradually decreasing number of employees

Regarding the employment figures of AkzoNobel, the company's number of employees has been decreasing each year over the past decade. As of 2021, the company had roughly 32,700 employees. This was a decrease of around 23,000 employees since 2010.
